Catholic games

Hey guys! So sorry I haven't been posting in the past couple months. I've been busy, and yes, I forgot.

Games are fun, but they can be both fun and educational when you put a Catholic twist on them! So next time you sit down with Catholic family or friends, try challenging them to one of these games and see how well they do!

Catholic Taboo

If you're not familiar with the basic game of Taboo, basically there will be a card with a word that you are trying to get the other players to guess, but then there will be five other words under that word that you also can't say. If you say the key word, or any of the other five words, then another player who supervises will "buzz" you, and your team loses a point. So Catholic Taboo is basically that, only the terms are all Catholic. Here's an example:

Eucharist

Body

Blood

Presence

Adoration

Revival

Also, you can't do any actions (like point to a picture of the Eucharist, for example), say things like "begins with E", or make noise to help the other players guess. Once you figure it out, I'm sure you'll find out that it's really fun!

Catholic Jeopardy

I'm guessing most of you have played Jeopardy, or at least heard of it, at some point. You are given a definition and have to give your answer in the form of a question. Example:

"This is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus present under the appearances of bread and wine."

 "What is the Eucharist?"

The definitions are organized under categories and are each given a certain number of points. Whichever team got the previous question right to chooses the next definition. Whichever team has the most points at the end wins.

ABC Catholic Game

To play this game, get out a piece of paper and write the letters A to Z on it. Then choose a category (saints, sacramentals and religious objects, virtues, etc.), set a time limit, and try to go down the list and fill in a thing in that category that begins with each letter. For example, if the category was saints:

Andrew

Benedict

Catherine

Damien

Etheldreda...

If you're playing by yourself, you get closer to winning the more you get. If you're playing in a group, whoever gets the most wins.

I hope you enjoy my suggestions and if you like, try putting a Catholic twist on some of your other favorite games. Until next time, God bless!
