Saints with disabilities

 Hey everyone! 

Over the past few years, I've seen lists of saints that belonged to different races or suffered from a particular circumstance, but I've never seen a list of saints with physical disabilities. So I've decided to make one for all of you today. They'll be listed in alphabetical order along with a brief description of their disability. Some of them were born disabled, some acquired their disability later, but I promise you -- every single one of them is unique.

-Bl. Alexandrina Maria da Costa jumped off a roof to escape a man who was trying to assault her and remained bedridden for the rest of her life.

-Bl. Alexius Kim Si-u was paralyzed on the right side of his body.

-St. Ava was born blind, but was later cured by St. Reinfredis.

-Bl. Benedetta Bianchi Porro suffered from an illness that eventually left her blind, deaf, and paralyzed.

-Servant of God Darwin Ramos was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at age five and had it the rest of his life.

- Servant of God Eileen Rosaline O’Connor broke her spinal cord and became unable to walk.

-Bl. Eugenia Picco suffered from a degenerative bone disease that forced doctors to amputate her right leg.

-St. Germaine Cousin was born with a limb difference and developed scrofula in her neck.

-Bl. Ghébrē-Michael lost one of his eyes in an accident when he was still very young.

-Bl. Hermann of Richenau had a cleft palate, cerebral palsy, and spinal muscular atrophy.

-St. Kateri Tekakwitha suffered from smallpox when she was four. The disease scarred her face and took away most of her sight.

- St. Lydwine of Schiedem survived an ice skating accident when she was 14 and remained paralyzed the last 38 years of her life.

-Bl. Margaret of Castello was born blind and had a limp.

-St. Seraphina also remained bedridden for much of her life.

 I hope you guys can make a few new heavenly friends from this list and I'll see you next time!

I always loved the stories of the saints. They were always so exciting and full of adventure! But unfortunately, the way they were portrayed made them seem boring, distant, and even a little creepy. It can get so tiring to hear just how holy they were over and over again that they just seem impossible to relate to. However, we know that isn't the case. The saints were just like us. Forms of prayer

     We all have to pray. Prayer is a very basic requirement for Christian life, and besides, we wouldn't last very long without it. But what are some ways we can pray? And how do we know which way is right for us?      Below are some different forms of prayer that are good for different purposes. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but they can all be very effective in bringing us closer to Christ. Daily examen      This form of prayer requires five steps:       1.) Become aware of God's presence       2.) Thank God for the ways He has blessed you in since the last time you prayed       3.) Reflect on the ways that God was present in your life since the last time you prayed       4.) Ask forgiveness for all of the sins you've committed       5.) Choose one area to improve on in the future       This can be very helpful because it shows us just how God can work through our lives. We can pose these as questions to God and then just let go and let Him lead you where

Taking a 'How Catholic are you actually" quiz...

 Hello everyone! So today I'm doing something a bit different and more fun after all the serious content. So I'm going to be taking a 'How Catholic are you' quiz from BuzzFeed, which will be interesting to say the least since I'm not too sure how nuanced BuzzFeed is in their ideas of Catholicism.  Anyway, enjoy!  The quiz is from BuzzFeed: 'How Catholic are you actually?'   "Do you practise what you preach" (seriously overused phrase.
